Rossington Main made history by confirming promotion to Non-League step 5 for the first time in the club's history after beating Horbury Town in the Northern Counties East League Division One play-off final. In front of a staggering 1,164 crowd at Oxford Street, NCEL top goalscorer Ross Hannah made Rossington shake when opening the scoring from the spot. Brad Grayson then gave Main a two-goal lead going into the interval with a clinical finish five minutes before the break. After four on-field red cards which saw Horbury down to eight men and Rossington down to ten, the visitors against all the odds pulled one back through Lamin Bojang however, Main's narrowed advantage wasn't to be for long as Grayson secured his brace which confirmed Ben Hunter's side getting promoted to the NCEL Premier. Captain Greg Young then kickstarted the celebrations, lifting the trophy in front of the loyal Rosso fans.
