Semi-Final Dates Confirmed for Senior Cup & JCP Construction Cup

Rossington Main can confirm that dates have now been finalised for both of our upcoming cup semi-finals, with two huge opportunities on the horizon for the Rosso.

Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup semi-final:

Firstly, we will travel to Worksop Town’s Windsor Foodservice Stadium to face the highest-ranked first team remaining in the competition. The Tigers compete in the National League North at Non-League step 2 and level six of the overall football pyramid. This will mark the first time in over a century that Rossington Main have faced a step 2 opposition in a competitive fixture.

While the original date was announced by the hosts a few weeks ago, it unfortunately clashed with the rearranged home league fixture against Beverley Town. That league match has now been moved to the following week. Our Senior Cup semi-final is therefore confirmed for Tuesday 24th March (19:45). Ticket details will be announced by Worksop Town in due course, so please stay tuned to our channels for further updates.

Northern Counties East League JCP Construction Cup semi-final:

Following the county cup action, Rosso will host on home soil Route One Rovers in the semi-final of the NCEL JCP Construction Cup. Our visitors compete in the NCEL Division One (league below) and will no doubt arrive in strong form, setting up another stern test under the lights at the Kalkut’s Community Stadium.

This fixture will take place on Tuesday 14th April (19:45). Supporters can pre-purchase tickets for this one by clicking HERE alternatively, pay-on-the-gate will be in operation as normal.

Having reached the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup semi-final as recently as 2022, coincidentally against Worksop Town where despite Rosso taking the lead on the night, we were ultimately beaten 2-1. We also reached the NCEL JCP Construction Cup semi-final in 2024, yet no Rossington Main side has progressed to the final in either competition.

With two significant challenges ahead and a total of nine matches scheduled across March, history is firmly on the line as we look to take that next step and book our place in a cup final.
