As has become the norm of recent years more ground improvements were undertaken during the summer break of 2010. A freshen up of the fencing and buildings and a new clubhouse/Hospitality block was installed. This facility is now generating much needed revenue for the club and provides better facilities for visiting teams. Ian stepped down during the season with Mel Culshaw stepping forward. Unfortunately results did not go his way and he was replaced with Steve Lodge for the remainder of the season. A terrific finish to the season saw all three teams reach their respective Finals. The first team went into the Wilkinson Sword Trophy Final against Glasshoughton Welfare with a greatly understrength side due to injuries and suspensions. Two first half goals were enough to deny them a first trophy success for some 26 years. The Under 17 side lost their League Cup Final tie by the same score to a very strong Doncaster Pumas side. The 2nd team went one better when they beat the League Champions AFC Sportsman Rovers 3-1 in the Premier Division Knock-out Cup Final.
In the League the first team finished 14th with a record points tally of 49, the 2nd team dropped off at the end after competing in the top three for much of the season to finish in a respectable fifth. The under 17 side again competed at the top of the table though they also suffered toward the end with selection problems and finished once again in third.
An added bonus to the end of season honours came when the match-day magazine won the best in the NCEL Division One and 31st in the country for Non-League clubs in the Soccer Club Swap Shop programme awards. http://www.thecatalogue.tripod.com. Of the other NCEL sides only Long Eaton Utd bettered us by coming 13th overall. This was a very proud moment for Pete Murden and appreciated reward for all the hard work over the previous 10 years or so.
During the close season ground improvements were once again on the agenda as the club is determined not to stand still on this side and continue to provide the best facilities that are financially available. On the field a new Under 19 side was formed with Kevin Eley, Paul McCreadie and Andy Cowe in charge. Andy Jackson and Keith Newstead stepped up from the Juniors to take the helm of the Under 17 side. Paul Colley agreed to take on the role of 2nd Team manager.
