The pressure is off as Rossington Main welcome the Welfare to Oxford Street in what is both sides’ last game of the regular season.
Following last weekend’s monumental victory at Worsbrough where Main achieved their highest ever league finish. Rossington will still be determined to get this one over the line in order to break the 80-point barrier for the first time in Northern Counties East League Division One and to keep their momentum high as they face North Ferriby F.C. in the semi-final of the play-offs next Saturday.
Glasshoughton’s safety in the division was confirmed some games ago and since then the Welfare have struggled for form, their last victory came seven games ago when they defeat second from bottom and already relegated Clipstone.
With the potential of Main confirming their possible fifth straight league victory available this Saturday, Rossington boast the better head-to-head record over 16th placed Glasshoughton as Main have won three out of their last five meetings, drawing and losing on only one occasion each.
Team News
It is unsure whether top goal scorer Tyla Bell will play against the Welfare as he was brought off in the first half of Saturday’s win over Worsborough. Bailey Conway was named on the bench but didn’t feature at the weekend as he is still a 50-50 to feature against Glasshoughton.
Despite Rossington having already confirmed their place in the play-offs, don’t expect the gaffer to make too many changes as Main will want to keep their momentum going after winning all of their last four league games.

Last Time Out v Glasshoughton
The points were split evenly last time the two sides met back in late November at the Lee Johnston Signage Stadium. Carl Robinson put the Blues ahead with just 12 minutes on the clock before Bell levelled proceedings just inside the half-hour mark. Danny Deakin then put Rossington in front, five minutes after the interval however Main’s lead was short lived when Lewis Stephens instantly levelled things back up a minute later. Dylan Drovi then sent the Welfare back in front but again Deakin nullified their lead after scoring his brace minutes later. Following a flurry of goals in the opening 13 minutes of the second half, the six-goal thriller ended in a 3-3 draw in front of 81 fans in Castleford.
