History on the line as Rossington Main have the chance to confirm their place in the play-offs against the Briggers this Saturday.
Thankfully Rossington travel to the Pinto Property Stadium in fine form having won all of their last three league games, all by keeping a clean sheet and all with a scoreline of just one goal.
A mixed bag of results this season have all but confirmed a comfortable ninth placed mid-table finish for Worsbrough who’s form has started to dip in recent weeks, having seen Luke Forgione’s side only pick up one point in their last four league outings.
Three points on away soil for Rossington would record their highest ever league achievement in the Northern Counties East League Division One. Main currently sit in fifth place and occupy the last play-off place, with the trailing team Selby Town sitting seven points adrift but with a game in hand. Following Tuesday’s win over Harrogate Railway Athletic, the possibility of Rossington finishing fourth is still on the cards, presuming the Rail lose or draw their last fixture against Retford FC tomorrow and if Main beat the Briggers and then Glasshoughton Welfare next Saturday.
Team News
Main fans will be pleased to hear that there were no new injuries picked up during Rossington’s 0-1 win at Station View on Tuesday. Bailey Conway still remains a 50-50 as to whether he will return to full fitness and be back in this weekend’s side following his injury (Leg).

Rossington Main manager Ben Hunter said: “The lads know the job isn’t done yet.”
“We need another win to ensure our place in the playoffs so all our attentions are now on Saturday in what will be a very tricky game away at Worsbrough.”
“Massive thanks to all those that came to support the boys (at Harrogate) it meant a lot. Hopefully a lot will be coming to help us over the line against Worsbrough!”
Last Time Out v Worsbrough
The Briggers came back from behind in the reverse fixture back in late November. Tyle Bell drew first blood for Rossington on the 24 minute, which was soon cancelled out by Michael Jepps 11 minutes later. Worsbrough then took the lead three minutes after their first goal with the last goal in the first half coming from Dempsey Smith. The Briggers continued to score as Harley Holt made it three on the 70 minute. Despite a rapid response from the hosts as Greg Young found the net for Main a minute later, the five-goal thriller ended in 2-3 favour to the travelling side in front of 163 fans at Oxford Street.
