Match Preview ?: Rossington Main v Swallownest
Rossington return to Oxford Street to welcome regelation struggling Swallownest in the Northern Counties East League Division One.
There are only seven games left of the regular season for Main who are looking to end the campaign in the top five. Every point at this stage is crucial and so there is another huge three points available this Saturday.
Meanwhile Swallownest are treading dangerously near the wrong end of the table as they are currently only two points and a place above the relegation zone. With games running out, Alex Nightingale’s side will certainly be giving it there all if they hope to keep their NCEL status.
13 places and 41 points separate fifth place Rossington to eighteenth place Swallownest. Main fans will be pleased to hear that Rossington pose the better head-to-head record over this Saturday’s visitors. Rossington have registered three wins, a draw and a loss in their last five head-to-head encounters with Swallownest.
Team News
Following Rossington’s midweek victory against local rivals Armthorpe Welfare, Main fans will be delighted to hear that there is no new injury news to report. Gary Mundy is available to be chosen upon following the completion of his three-match suspension.

Pre-Match Press Conference
Rossington Main manager Ben Hunter said: “We have Swallownest at home on Saturday who are scrapping for their lives at the minute.”
“We were very fortunate to take three points at their place with basically the last kick of the game, so we know again we will need to be right at it.”
“We have seven games remaining so hopefully we can keep the form going and get ourselves in the playoffs, which would be a great achievement for the lads and everyone connected with the club. Either way it’s going to be an exciting end to the season.”
Last Time Out v Swallownest
Main came back from behind to take all three points back to Oxford Street last time the two sides came head-to-head in the reverse fixture back in late October. Prior to Jake Squires who put the hosts ahead on the stroke of halftime, Main came back out of the blocks flying, levelling the scoreline on the 58 minute courtesy of Myron Gibbons. Rossington kept believing and found an eventual winner in the 90 minute via a heroic goal from Conner Williamson to end proceedings 1-2 in Main’s favour.
