Doncaster’s highest ranked Non-League side finally feature at home for the first time in 2025 with an exciting test against The Countrymen at Oxford Street.
Greg Young’s Rosso return to Rosso following an entertaining goalless draw away at Handsworth after a four-game winning run in the Northern Counties East League Premier came to an end the weekend prior against Pickering Town.
Craig Denton’s Hallam side have hit NCEL Premier good-form in the last couple of months as The Countrymen make the trip from The Oldest Football Ground in the World with four wins and a draw in their last five. Hallam will also be looking to complete the league double over Rosso for the first time in 13 years following a strong performance in the previous meeting back in September.
Despite Rosso were convincingly defeated last time out away at Hallam, The Countrymen haven’t won at Oxford Street since the end of April 2018 as on top of Rosso completing the season double over Hallam last year, Doncaster’s highest ranked Non-League side have won and drawn twice in the last four Oxford Street head-to-head matches.

Last Time Out v Hallam
The Countrymen strongly defeated Rosso last time the two-sides met at Sandygate on a cold late September’s Tuesday evening in Sheffield. In front of 445 spectators at The Oldest Football Ground in the World, Hallam took the lead through an unfortunate own-goal on the unlucky 13 minute. Three minutes later and after a moment of individual finish, Paul Sherburn delivered a heroic equaliser with a superb strike to stun the Hallam faithful in the Shed End behind the goal. As in the previous season where Rosso had come back from behind to beat Hallam, it wasn’t to be one of those contests as goals from Rio Allan, Leon Howarth and debutant Brodie Litchfield saw the hosts end up on top with a 4-1 scoreline.
