The points were shared evenly in North Yorkshire at the So-Trak Ltd Stadium as the game finished goalless on a cloudy but sunny afternoon in Tadcaster.
With no goals to report, both sides were denied by the post in the first half before Rosso then having a goal disallowed on the 35 minute as Ross Hannah was deemed offside despite finding the back of the net after the assistant referee raised his flag which meant the goal would therefore not stand.
Fixture number 37 out of 38 for the regular Northern Counties East League Premier season got underway for Rosso with an end to end opening few minutes. After Owen Eames was fouled and awarded a free kick of which the hosts defended well, Harry Sheppeard was then shown an early yellow card for his part in the build up to Tadcaster then being awarded a free kick in a dangerous area. Despite finding the target, Rosso’s shot-stopper Jim Pollard delivered a great hand at the far bottom corner to keep the scoreline level after five minutes on the clock.
The hosts then come close to an opener five minutes later as Raeece Abul-Haq Ellington had a go on goal from outside of the box only for the ball to narrowly scrape the outside of the far post and go out for a Rosso goal kick.
Three minutes later and after serving his suspension, Freddie Allen returned to the starting XI and delivered a brilliant clearance inside the six-yard box after The Brewers executed another dangerous pass across goal.
Rossington looked to have taken the lead on the 18 minute after Hannah had the initial shot before Eames with his head was narrowly denied by the far post and The Brewers then cleared the danger.
The Brewers then up the other end almost took the lead as Pollard provided another crucial save at the near post before coming out to deny Tadcaster at their second attempt in a matter of seconds.
Ten minutes before the end of the first-half Rosso had the ball in the back of the net following Hannah’s shot however, the assistant referee lifted his flag for offside and the goal did not stand.
After the half-time break and after Rossington made three substitutions, Rosso’s number nine Manasse Kianga went on a brilliant dribble beating multiple Tadcaster defenders before pulling the trigger however, unfortunately for Rosso, the ball finished just wide of the left hand post.
Following three more Rossington substitutions, of which Ben Hunter had made his allocated five changes, Rosso fell down to ten men near the end of the game as captain Young received an injury and with no substitutions left to make, Rossington had to make do with a player short for the remainder of the game of which, the final few minutes finished at 0-0.
