Rossington are back on the road this weekend as Ben Hunter’s side makes the short 16 mile trip over to South Elmsall to face The Blues at Westfield Lane.
Rosso return to their travels this weekend following a huge bounce back victory last Saturday by beating fellow play-off chasing rivals Thackley 2-0 at Oxford Street in what was a huge ‘six-pointer’ in the currently Northern Counties East League Premier play-off battle.
Frickley find themselves in a current tough patch of form having not won in any of their last eight NCEL Premier matches with their last three points coming in mid-January at home to Maltby Main. The Blue were also defeated midweek on Wednesday away at Albion Sports.
Fixture number 33 in the NCEL Premier for Rosso which falls away at Frickley this Saturday will also commemorate 40 years since the mining strikes, and all former miners will receive free entry as both sides represent South Yorkshire mining Villages. While Rossington sit higher in the overall league standings, The Blues do possess the bragging rights after being victorious at Oxford Street earlier on in the season
