After two weekends away from home, Rosso return to Oxford Street as Ben Hunter’s side welcome Penistone Church to Doncaster.
Rossington are back at home on Saturday following last weekend’s trip to high-flying Emley AFC was postponed due to a frozen pitch at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground. Before the match against the Pewits was cancelled, Rosso extended their unbeaten run in the Northern Counties East League Premier to six games the week prior with a 2-2 draw away at Eccleshill United.
Following Penistone’s game at the weekend against Knaresborough Town also getting called off, Penistone have also experienced some good form in recent weeks as the side managed by Stephen Lenthall delivered four wins out of five in the NCEL Premier across December and January. Including a draw to Albion Sports, Penistone defeated all of Hallam, Emley AFC, Bottesford Town and Handsworth.
This Saturday’s game is a crucial sit-pointer in the top half of the table as there is currently goal difference which separates fifth place Rossington Main and currently sat outside of the play-off places Penistone Church in sixth. This therefore should be an enthralling fixture for both set of fans and of course the mutual.

Last Time Out v Penistone
Rossington registered back-to-back wins in the NCEL Premier for the first time since being promoted to Non-League step 5, the last time they played Penistone. Towards the end of September, Brad Grayson sent Rosso into the lead before Jim Pollard saved a Penistone penalty which kept Hunter’s side in front. Despite, Josh Brown then equalising for Penistone, Manasse Kianga came up with the winning goal for Rosso in front of 194 spectators under the lights of the Parker Roofing Memorial Ground.
