Rossington Main begin the New Year with what should be a thrilling contest against the world’s second oldest football club, Hallam at Oxford Street.
Ben Hunter’s Rosso side enter their first game in the New Year having won all their last four Northern Counties East League Premier games and sit fifth in the table.
The Countrymen managed by Craig Denton make the trip over from Sheffield in opposite league form having picked up only one point in their last four league outings despite making it to the fourth round of the FA Vase where they will host Silsden next weekend.
There is currently six points and seven places which separate Rosso and 12th place Hallam in the table at Non-League step 5. Rosso will be hoping for more of the same after beating The Countrymen back at Sandygate earlier on in the season.

Goals from Kieren Watson and Danny Buttle sent The Countrymen two-goals in front however, Rossington then overturned their Sheffield hosts in significant style when Danny Deakin and Ross Hannah put Rosso level before player manager for the evening Hunter delivered a long-range goal of the season to seal a priceless three-points.
