Rosso are all ready to host The Lions at Oxford Street on Saturday as it’s a third-straight home game for Ben Hunter’s Blue Army.

Hunter’s Rossington Main come into the fixture after their three-game winning run at Non-League step 5 came to an end following a tough 0-3 home defeat to Emley on Tuesday night.

Albion Sports have had a strong start to season having won eight and drawn one in their opening nine matches. As a result, Mohammed Rizwan’s side sit top of the Northern Counties East League Premier table and with games to spare on teams around them.

While Rossington’s start to their first ever campaign at Non-League step 5 involved a mixed bag of results earlier on, after stringing together a good run in September, there is only six points and places between Rosso and The Lions in the league table.

Team News

While Danny Deakin made his return from injury by coming off the bench in Tuesday’s defeat to Emley, there is no more news of when any of the currently injured players will make a return to the fold. This includes all of Tyla Bell, Jamie Green, Matthew Wilson and Niall Doran.

Last Time Out v Albion

The Lions took all three points last time the two sides met in December 2012. The season of which Albion were crowned the NCEL Division One champions and promoted saw The Lions take a two-goal lead after 49 minutes following goals from both Alex Cusack and McKoy Lyn. Despite an own-goal by Albion’s Gary Tyson two minutes later, Rossington were unable to find an equaliser as Albion ended up victorious with a scoreline of 1-2 in front of 65 spectators at Oxford Street.
