Rosso welcome a select XI from the City’s professional outfit in what is the final home pre-season fixture before the 2025/26 campaign gets underway.
Greg Young’s side have already faced four different teams so far this pre-season including the likes of Wakefield AFC, Dearne & District, North Ferriby F.C. and Doncaster City.
Last season’s EFL League Two champions have so far played Alfreton Town, Stamford AFC, Peterborough Sports and Gateshead.
This fixture between the Rovers and Doncaster’s highest ranked Non-League side always brings excitement to the village although, this year Doncaster will only be bringing a select XI, slightly different to two years prior when Grant McCann’s second reign in the Rovers hotseat began in full-force at Rossington.

Last Time Out v Doncaster Rovers
In what turned out to be Rossington’s record attendance last time the two sides came together during the pre-season of Rosso’s Non-League step 5 debut in July 2023. In front of a staggering 1,697 spectators at the Kalkut’s Community Stadium, Rosso raced into an early lead courtesy of a Ross Hannah goal. Tommy Rowe hit back to level the scoreline for the Rovers with a front post header on the quarter-of-an-hour mark. With the scoreline ending level at the break, both sides made large changes in the second half of which, McCann’s men ran out as 1-3 winners following a goal from George Broadbent on the 54 minute and then George Miller sealed Doncaster’s victory on the 71 minute.
