It’s a break from league action with some Monday night football for Greg Young’s Rosso who travel to Bradford Park Avenue’s Horsfall Community Stadium for round three of the Northern Counties East League JCP Construction Cup.

Rosso defeated Brigg Town of the NCEL Division One back at the start of September in the previous round when the Zebras equalised at the death to force a penalty shoutout of which Rosso prevailed as 5-4 penalties winner under previous manager Ben Hunter.

The Lions also advanced from round two on penalties as Yorkshire Amateur of the league below like Brigg hit back late to force spot-kicks however, Albion would advance with a penalty scoreline of 5-3.

This contest between the two NCEL Premier sides who both reached last season’s play-offs has been rearranged multiple times due to last minute ground unavailability with Albion still ground sharing with the former National League North side Bradford Park Avenue, now of the Northern Premier League East division.

Last Time Out v Albion Sports

One-goal apiece saw the points split for the second time of the season last time the two sides met back in early February 2024 in the previous NCEL Premier campaign. Robbie Fox thought he had done enough to secure all three points for The Lions however, Liam King had other ideas as his outside of the box finish on the 90 rescued a point for Rosso in front of 131 spectators at the Horsfall Community Stadium.
