Rosso exit the Emirates FA Cup in the extra preliminary round in front of 208 spectators at Oxford Street.
Ryan Ingram opened the scoring on the 13 minute after the Bulls pumped the ball into the box of which ended up in the back of the Rossington goal.
AFC Mansfield went down to ten men on the 63 minute when Kian Sketchley was shown a straight red card for an extremely dangerous tackle on half-time substitute Lewis Graham who then had to be subbed off following the challenge.
Following a dominant second half display by Rosso, AFC scored twice on the counterattack as Ingram marked his brace with a half-volley in off the post shot on the 78 minute and Gareth Curtis all but confirmed the Bulls’ advancement two minutes later.
The Emirates FA Cup extra preliminary round began with a fairly even opening ten minutes until the Bulls broke the deadlock minutes later through Ingram with a finish inside Rosso’s box.
Curtis broke through on the 20 minute and pulled the trigger however, lucky for Rosso, the Bulls’ shot finished wide of the far post.
Before a short drink’s break on a sunny summer’s day at Oxford Street, Cameron Hough did exceptionally well to track back and despite the Bulls getting beyond the keeper, Hough delivered a crucial tackle and clearance to prevent any further danger.
After Brad Grayson was brought down and won Rossington a free-kick, Ross Hannah came close with the set-piece only for hitting the target but with the Bulls’ shot-stopper Josh Turton making the save at the top corner.
Grayson was shown a yellow card shortly before the first-half was called for and after a great clearance from Mitch Langton to keep the score-line to just one at the interval.
After the break, Hannah came close in the six-yard box with a header which was saved by Turton in-between the sticks for the Bulls.
On his Emirates FA Cup debut, local young Rosso lad Graham after being substituted on at the break got involved straight away and took on multiple Mansfield men down the right before delivering his cross, of which was just cleared by the away side.
Rossington’s captain Liam King then was the next to hit the target after the ball spilled out to the edge of the box following a Rossington corner kick of which Grayson’s attempt was first blocked.
An awful moment followed as Graham who had only been on the pitch for 18 minutes was hideously tackled by a late chasing back Sketchley for the Bulls and as a result, AFC’s number three was shown a straight red card by the referee and the away side were forced down to ten men.
While Rossington looked to force an equaliser after the Bulls rightly so went down to ten men, Ingram marked his second of the day with a half-volley which ended up in the back of the net after going in off the post on the 78 minute and then Curtis confirmed their third with a goal on the 80 minute.
Despite trailing by three, Rosso attempted to find their way back into the game however there wasn’t to be a magical outcome on a sunny summer’s afternoon at Oxford Street in the world’s oldest national football competition.
