Rossington Main are delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Cunningham who has agreed to become the first team manager of the club’s first ever Women’s First Team.

The terrific appointment marks a new era in the club’s history who will look to field a Senior Ladies team for the first time since the club was formed in 1919.

The newly appointed manager has a strong interest in women’s football and an even bigger interest in supporting growing the game. He completed his university dissertation around the women’s game and has more recently been coaching in women’s football at college Doncaster, which was a mix of league and academy players, gaining promotion in his first ever season.

On accepting the position Cunningham said: “I am delighted to take up the position of the club’s first ever manager of a Women’s First Team and I am buzzing to be on board and really excited to get started with the project.”

Club Chairman Daniel Linstrum also commented: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Andrew to the club, he is a young enthusiastic coach who has a great passion for the women’s game, and I am delighted to finally get someone on board after an extensive search.”
