Club Message

Dear Supporters, now that the dust has settled on last season and we prepare to welcome our teams back for pre-season training next week, I wanted to take the opportunity to share a few thoughts with you all.

It has been a challenging post season, and it is no secret that we have lost several players, including some real fan favourites. To those who have moved on to play at a higher level, we wish you every success. You have earned those opportunities, and we are proud to have played a small part in your journey. To those joining new clubs, we also thank you for your contributions to Rossington Main FC and we wish you all the very best for the future.

We have also said farewell to our physio, Daisy Turton. Daisy has been a fantastic servant to the club, a wonderful person, and someone who was hugely respected by players, staff and supporters alike. We thank her for everything she has done and wish her every success in the future.

Football never stands still, however, and neither can we. While some clubs have approached the new season by spending heavily, we have taken a different route. We cannot, and will not, compete with some of the demands currently being seen in the market. More importantly, we will never mortgage the future of this football club beyond its means. We have a responsibility to ensure this club remains sustainable for many years to come, and every decision we make is guided by that principle.

With that in mind, we have worked incredibly hard behind the scenes to restructure, strengthen and modernise the club. We have welcomed a new club physio who has settled in brilliantly, bringing enthusiasm, professionalism and already making a significant impact by organising and improving our medical facilities.

Many of you will also have seen the return of Matt Buckley as Club Secretary. This is another excellent appointment and one that will help relieve some of the pressure as the club continues to grow. Over recent years I have found myself taking on more and more responsibilities, and Matt's return will be invaluable moving forward.

At the same time, after many years of dedicated service, it is only right that Ged steps away from some of the day-to-day responsibilities. We are delighted that he has accepted the role of Club President, a position that reflects the immense contribution he has made to this football club over many years. His knowledge, support and passion remain as important as ever.

One of the most significant appointments we have made this summer is the arrival of Gaynor Waddington as Commercial Director previously of club Doncaster. Gaynor brings a wealth of experience, fresh ideas, clear strategic thinking and a network of contacts that will help take this club forward. We are delighted to have her on board and excited about what we can achieve together.

On the football side, Ben's return towards the end of last season gave everyone a real lift, and we are delighted with the management structure now in place. Ben and Greg, have worked tirelessly behind the scenes. While we are not in a position to announce anything just yet please be assured that a huge amount of work is going into building a squad that will be competitive, committed and capable of representing this football club with pride.

Off the pitch, the club continues to make significant progress. The clubhouse is looking fantastic following the installation of exterior cladding and a new roof. We have upgraded the PA system, installed a state-of-the-art alarm and CCTV security system, completed a new roof on the pitch side cafe, improved the dugouts and continue to make good progress with the pitch perimeter fencing. These improvements are all part of our commitment to creating facilities that players, supporters, volunteers and sponsors can be proud of.

Our Development Team continues to go from strength to strength. Stephen and his coaching staff have committed for another season, and we have some exciting additions joining the squad. The fact that more than 25 players are wanting to also trial this summer is a testament to the culture, environment and reputation that Stephen and his team have built. I am genuinely excited to see what they can achieve this season.

The addition of our Under-16s side, under the guidance of Kris, creates another important pathway for young players within the club. We are also exploring the possibility of introducing an Under-18s side should there be sufficient demand, which would further strengthen our player development pathway.

On the girls' side of the club, John returns with the Under-18s and is overseeing a major rebuild following the departure of several players through age progression. Jack is putting the finishing touches to his Reserves squad, while Lee is shaping the First Team for what we hope will be a strong and successful campaign.

Finally, I would like to thank every supporter, volunteer, sponsor, player and member of staff for your continued support. Everything we achieve as a club is only possible because of the dedication and commitment of so many people.

The season ahead will bring challenges, as every season does. There will be highs and lows along the way, but we will face them together. I firmly believe we have put the right foundations in place, both on and off the pitch, and I am excited about what the future holds.
Most importantly, we continue to build a club that our players, supporters, volunteers and sponsors can be proud to be part of.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you all again very soon.

Together, we move forward!
