Ladies First-Team Team Manager Adam Rawlings Steps Down

Club Statement

The club would like to announce that Adam Rawlings has stepped down as manager of the Ladies first team with immediate effect.

Adam leaves after just over eight months in charge at Oxford Street, during which time he guided the team to a top four finish in our first competitive season in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Women and Girls Open Age Division 1 and secured the club’s first-ever trophy by winning the Sheffield and Hallamshire Women and Girls League Open Age Shield.

We want to sincerely thank Adam for his dedication, hard work, and significant achievements during his time with the club. We will forever be grateful for the remarkable Adobe Women’s FA Cup run he orchestrated, which has taken the team to the final qualifying round, to be played next week. This exceptional run also provided vital funds that enabled us to invest in crucial facility improvements, which would not have been possible without this achievement.

Adam has built a winning team, filled with top-class players, and leaves behind a solid foundation for future success. We are grateful for everything he has contributed to Rossington Main, and he departs with our best wishes for the future.

Chairman Daniel Linstrum expressed his gratitude: “On behalf of everyone at Rossington Main, I’d like to offer our heartfelt thanks to Adam for the impact he has had on our Ladies setup. Adam has overseen a period of great progress and success in what is still a short history for our ladies' team, and we are extremely thankful for his hard work, commitment, and dedication to the role.”

In the interim, we have appointed Lee Mortimer, who has been actively involved with the club and the Ladies setup, to step in as manager. Lee brings over 10 years of management experience, most recently with a Tier 4 women's reserve team in the National Northern Reserve League.

He has also worked closely with Adam around the first team and has managed teams in our current league. Furthermore, Lee has coached several of our current players at previous clubs across different age groups, giving him a strong understanding of the squad.

We will now take some time to review our options and will also sit down with Lee in the coming weeks to discuss a long-term plan as we look to build on the solid foundation Adam has set.
