Following Tuesday’s postponed Northern Counties East League Cup fixture against Retford FC, Rosso switch their attentions back to league action as they host Frickley at Oxford Street on Saturday.
Prior to the postponed midweek fixture against The Choughs, Ben Hunter’s side split the points last Saturday in the NCEL Premier away at an in-form Thackley AFC despite both sides going down to ten men.
The season before last, The Blues were playing at Non-League step 4 as after their relegation, Frickley finished seventeenth in the NCEL Premier last campaign. Patrick McGuire’s side have experienced a similar start to Rosso and currently sit around the mid-table mark.
While The Blues have two games in hand over Rosso, there is only one point and one place which separate eighth place Rossington Main with ninth place Frickley Athletic.
Team News
Rossington Main were delighted to welcome back Danny Deakin who made his return from injury off the bench in Saturday’s draw against Thackley. There is no further update on when all of Tyla Bell, Brad Ronis, Matthew Wilson, Jamie Green and Niall Doran are expected to return from injury.

Last Time Out v Frickley
Rossington recorded an impressive victory over The Blues last time the two sides came together in a pre-season friendly in late July of 2019. In a seven-goal thriller a Joshua Gelder hat-trick and goal from Ben Clark saw Rossington finish on the better of a 3-4 away friendly despite a brace from Frickley’s Jack McMenemy and second-half strike from Sam Cable.
