Rossington travel to Greater Manchester on Saturday to face Wythenshawe in the FA Vase first qualifying round.
Rossington will be hoping for a better away day than last Saturday after being knocked out of the Emirates FA Cup following a late goal scored by Ashby Ivanhoe in Leicestershire. Rosso did respond midweek after a 3-1 victory in the battle of the two ‘Mains’ in the Northern Counties East League Premier on Tuesday evening
Wythenshawe pile their trade also at Non-League step 5 like Rossington but in the Northern Counties West League Premier and currently sit in 3rd place after picking up 12 points in five games so far this season.
Rossington got as far as the second qualifying round last year after handing a 6-0 thrashing at home to Parkgate in the first qualifying round but then despite a late goal by substitute Tyla Bell, Rosso were defeated 2-1 away at FC St Helens.
Team News
Rossington’s Jordan Buckham, Reiss Harrison and Cameron Hough are a 50-50 to feature at the weekend as they look to recover from their respective injuries. Currently injured Jamie Green and Matthew Wilson will most certainly miss Saturday’s cup clash meanwhile Liam King will also miss the trip to Greater Manchester after picking up an injury in the midweek victory. Long-term injured Niall Doran will remain on the sidelines as well.
