Rossington Main are just one step away from the Emirates FA Cup first qualifying rounds as Leicestershire based outfit Ashby Ivanhoe stand in their way this Saturday.
Following a 4-1 home victory to Leicester Nirvana in the Extra Preliminary round just under two weeks ago, Rossington head to Ashby-de-la-Zouch to face United Counties League Premier Division North side Ashby at the NFU Sports Ground.
Ashby advanced through the previous round with also a strong showing on their home patch as their comfortable three-goal victory which included a brace from Sam Grouse and a goal from Joel Carta over Lincolnshire based Deeping Rangers meant that they would go head-to-head with Ben Hunter’s side.
Both sides pile their trade at Non-League step 5 with Rosso having picked up only four points out of a possible 12 in the Northern Counties East League Premier with Ashby Ivanhoe impressively recording ten points out of a possible 12 already in the UCL Premier Division North.
Team News
Rossington Main were delighted to welcome back club captain Greg Young in last Saturday’s draw to Goole AFC. It is still unclear when Matthew Wilson, Cody Prior and recently injured Reiss Harrison will be back amongst the squad as they recover from their respective injuries. The same goes for long-term injured Niall Doran who will remain on the sidelines for this fixture.

Pre-Match Press Conference
Rossington Main manager Hunter said: “Everyone loves a good cup run and we are all aiming for it. Step Four clubs are in it now and the so-called 'big teams' will come in next, if we make it.”
“They have got a good reputation, so it will be tough. They came through their game really easily. There's no real expectation on us, going away, but there's no reason why we can't make the next round.”
