Following two tough matches on the road, Rosso return home this Saturday against Northern Counties East League promotion chasing Thackley at Oxford Street.
Greg Young’s Doncaster’s highest ranked Non-League side come into the fixture against the Dennyboys having not won in any of their last six NCEL Premier matches however, this does include a valuable point picked up midweek away at the current league leaders Silsden on Tuesday.
The Dennyboys from the West Riding currently sit 3rd and therefore inside the play-off places and will be hoping to reach the end-of-season top five following a tricky run of form last season which saw them fall out during the important run-in of the 2023/24 campaign. Thackley ended a similar type five-game winless run on Tuesday with a 0-2 away victory at Barton Town thanks to an Antony Brown brace.
Despite Thackley occupying a higher league place than Rosso, Rossington do have the better head-to-head record against the Dennyboys in the pair’s last three recent meetings of which has seen two draws and a Rossington victory.

Last Time Out v Thackley
In what was Young’s first game since being appointed as permanent first-team manager, Rosso ruined Thackley celebrations last time the two sides met back in mid-October at the Meridian Stadium at Dennyfield. In front of 229 spectators, an early brace from Finn Donovan for the Dennyboys looked like it would be enough to secure a home team victory however, Mitch Langton’s late header gave Rosso a life-line before an even later Ashley Worsfold header deep into injury time crushed Thackley hearts to see the four-goal thriller end 2-2.
