Rossington Main's chairman Daniel Linstrum spoke to the media this evening after yesterday's special day which saw Ben Hunter's side make history by achieving promotion to Non-League step 5 for the first time.

Promotion was achieved as Main defeated Horbury Town in the play-off final yesterday at Oxford Street in front of 1,164 spectators. Main went ahead through Ross Hannah before Brad Grasyon secured the second before half-time. Following an unfortunate event which led to five red cards being shown, Lamin Bojang gave 8-men Horbury a lifeline by scoring a free kick but then Grayson's brace all-but confirmed the victory minutes later.

Rossington Main chairman Linstrum said: "Well we did it… after 32 years in the same league, I understand what our play-off win means to everyone connected to the club past and present and for the whole village of Rossington."

"I am immensely proud of everyone our committee, our loyal volunteers, the players, our fantastic supporters, our sponsors and a special thanks to the gaffer Ben Hunter and his staff what a job he has done!”

Rossington Main can now look forward to playing in the Northern Counties East League Premier division which is step 9 of the overall English Football League pyramid and step 5 in Non-League. On top of this, Rossington will also be eligible to play in the FA Cup once again.
